Even if, like me, you don’t agree with Jonny Walker on much, you still can’t fault the genius of their simple tagline, “keep walking!” Yeah, I know that it is difficult to stand, let alone to walk, after being loaded with whisky, but Jonny believes there’s no harm in trial, as long as you keep a staff handy for the expected stumbles! The walk may be random, but Jonny says, “keep walking”…. just don’t drive!
As the year ends & a lot of people are locked on reflection, introspection, speculation, prospection & even frustration, I feel like borrowing Jonny’s words; no matter the matter, keep walking! Life has to go on! And life is always about the now & the future!
Maybe you exceeded every expectation of 2019: Keep walking! Good sometimes is the enemy of best! Never rest on your oars! Never surrender to arrival mentality! There is still much more ahead of you! You will never have a better yesterday in Jesus Christ name!
Hmmm! 2019 wasn’t good
God didn’t answer in the way you expected? Keep walking!
The love of your life walked away? Keep walking!
Something about your finances makes you weep? Keep walking!
You failed spiritually, morally or otherwise? Keep walking!
Delay, denial, disappointment, disaster or even death visited? Keep walking!
Etc
Life may not be fair! Sometimes, the only way to get through is to go through! Keep dreaming! Keep believing! Keep getting up! Keep walking! And if you keep walking, I believe God will step in and turn the trials into testimonies!
Remember Eleanor Roosevelt’s words: “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams!” And as Corrie Ten Boom put it: “Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God!”
